Address: Downing Close,Station Road, Knowle, Solihull,West Midlands,B93 0QA Telephone: 01564 739194 Fax: 01564 771224 Click here for directions to Arden Medical Centre>> Surgery Opening Times A receptionist is available to answer emergency phone calls between 8.00-08.30 every weekday morning, and on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 12.30-13.30 as well as between 18.00-18:30. Surgeries run throughout the morning and in the afternoons between 15:00 and 17:30. We will be open these mornings* for pre booked appointments only. If you wish to see the Doctor on a Saturday morning please make an appointment in the normal way. Appointments will need to be cancelled on Friday evening by 6 pm, as the phone lines will not be open to cancel on a Saturday morning. We will NOT be offering any other services such as prescription drop off or collection or the booking of future appointments at this time. If you have a medical emergency at weekends, please dial the surgery number 01564 739194 * If any of the above dates have to be changed we will give at least 10 working days notice Dates for the second half of the year will be published in June 2009 Always ring the Surgery telephone number 01564 739194 when the surgery is closed, a recorded message will direct you to our professional answering service. All patients are seen by appointment. Patients may choose to see any doctor they wish. (Please note that none of the doctors works every day, so you need to check the surgeries that each particular doctor holds - click here). The practice operates an advanced access system and you will be offered an appointment within two working days. Same-day appointments are always available. In order for the system to work smoothly we will usually be unable to book doctors' appointments more than two days in advance. If for any reason this is difficult for you please explain this to the receptionist and we will do our best to help you. If you think that your problem is likely to be resolved by a telephone discussion with a doctor or nurse rather than an appointment, please mention this to the receptionist. Be prepared to leave a telephone number and to be telephoned back. A doctor is normally available to give telephone advice at the end of morning surgery between 12.00-12.30. While we encourage our patients to consult us at the surgery whenever possible, home visits can be arranged for those housebound by illness or infirmity. Please telephone the surgery (01564 739194) before 11.00am if possible, or at any time in case of acute illness. Emergency Medical Services - Out Of Hours Outside normal working hours, emergency medical services for our patients are provided by BADGER (which is staffed by local GPs and has a base at Solihull Hospital). (BADGER stands for Birmingham and District General Practitioner Emergency Rooms) The Out of Hours service is commissioned by Solihull Care Trust. Always ring the Surgery telephone number 01564 739194, and a recorded telephone message provides the contact number when the surgery is closed. NHS Direct (Tel 0845 4647) is available 24 hours a day to provide advice and information. You can also visit their website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk - click here for the NHS Direct website If you require repeat medication on a regular basis we will usually issue you with a computerised repeat prescription request form. Please tick the items you require and hand or post in the form; allow two working days before collecting your prescription during normal surgery hours. If it is more convenient for you, you may leave your repeat request slip at Windridge chemist, Knowle; please allow a week between depositing your slip and collecting your medication from Windridge. Prescriptions can be returned by post if a SAE is enclosed. Requests can also be made by fax (01564 771224). For safety reasons, we will only accept telephoned requests for medication in exceptional circumstances. ONLINE REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS - We have introduced a facility for patients to order repeat prescriptions online from home. Patients need to pre-register to use this service at the surgery.
